WSSC Women’s Business Expo

This was an event provided by The Small, Local and Minority Business Enterprise Office of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (http://www.wsscwater.com/home/jsp/content/slmbe-program.faces). Upon arrival, we were able to speak to several minority business development leaders who provided us with applications to their organizations to not only add specific certifications to our company name, but to also add us to a list of minority business owners which increases the visibility of our services. Each woman leader we spoke with was able to answer our questions in a straightforward manner and invited us to keep in touch if we needed any further assistance. We became more aware of all the minority business oriented resources that are available to us and learned about the importance of utilizing them for finding more business, more especially with government contractors.

GWHCC Business Expo

This event was provided by the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which we are proudly members of (www.gwhcc.org). What a moving and life changing experience this was! Every kind of business imaginable attended; start-ups, established companies seeking to grow further, veterans sharing their words of wisdom, international organizations, and even individuals looking for the courage to begin something on their own. We had our very own booth with a table full of BWC marketing materials as well as a delicious plate of alfajores. Each person who approached us had a story to tell and needed advice on how to take what they created to the next level.
